I think a lot of us here are comic fans. I collect mainly for the writing.

I used to collect in the X-Men's hey day when Jim Lee and Chris Clairemont were working on the title (and the New Mutants).

I also like Frank Miller, Ostrander, Gaiman... just to name a few.

I still pick up a lot of Graphic Novels and try to keep up with plots.

Anyone into Super-hero RPGs? If I find enough people interested in playing, I have a couple of ideas for one-shots and/or campaigns that I could do at Open Meets rattling through my head.

I used to collect Asterix comics when I lived in S'pore but lost most of it to ppl who borrow and never return or ppl who lend things out that is not even theirs. anyway, Asterix was pretty funny and sometimes educational (historical names of places). When i got older, I started collecting adult material with comic strips in them. You dont want those back after you lend them out. hehe. Is it true for most guys or did I just have twisted perverted friends?

I would recommend the Mango Comics 3-shot of Darna if you can find it. I am still seeking a copy of the 1-shot Lastikman. I'd also highly recommend The Mythology Class especially if you like Gaiman-esque style plots.

I've seen a few more that were superhero based but they were in tagalog, so I can't say how good they are (or not). There's supposed to be a Manila Komicon here in the next few months.

I once saw this art exhibit in Megamall by Arnold Arre and his fantastic works blew me away.  Little did I know that he also draw comic books / graphic novels.  Yup, he did The Mythology Class.

His website is at http://www.arnold-arre.com/.

I collect mainly for the writing too.

As for the super-hero RPGs, go for it!

I would be game for a super hero RPG, as long as it doesn't eat into my Formula De races Cheesy
