We need people who can donate blogs/writeups in our website about the boardgames or tabletop gaming hobby in general.  I think the hobby has a potential to go mainstream locally.  It only needs active promotion.  I am sure most people who are into reading books and watching movies are more likely to find the tabletop gaming hobby interesting.  Just look at the number of various games available internationally and the different genre it has.  It's similar to movies and books but much more interactive, so in a way, it generates a totally different experience.  If you are one of those people who are looking for something different (yet somewhat familiar) and comfortable to do as a leisure / educational activity, then playing board games is the thing you might just be looking for.

I know most Filipinos are sociable in nature as many of us like hanging around with friends, chatting, drinking and basically having a good time.  So bringing the new wave of tabletop games into a gathering should pose no problem as it is a very social activity and would even probably bring fond memories of playing classic board games like Monopoly, Risk, and others.  We just need some way of re-introducing the hobby to the masses to make it more acceptable.  Make people realize that there are other things than playing Monopoly, Mahjong, Poker, Magic: The Gathering etc.   Cheesy  (Please take note that I have no grudge against the aforementioned games.  I just want to indicate that there are other games out there which will surely cater to different age groups and types of people).

If you have the talent and passion to write something about the hobby, please feel free to do so and post it here in our website or make it seen/read by more people.  I encourage everyone who are into these games to help promote the tabletop gaming hobby/industry in our country. Smiley

I'm currently just tied up finishing another writing project but I should be done by around mid-May. I've got several articles in mind in terms of strategy (the first one I'll write is probably something about payoffs and drawbacks), game design (something about gamer psychographics - Timmie, Johnny Spike vs GNS), and the importance of just going crazy at the table ("Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the skull throne!") which I'd like to write and publish in a few months.

Also, once I start my Warhammer 40K army I should be starting a blog on my army. Hopefully, I can an Imperial Guard army so I can write up colorful stories about Commissars, 8,000-year old caches of Plasma weapons, and the many ways a Guardman can serve even after death. Cheesy

Yes, I'm insane, no need to say it Cheesy

The WARMACHINE Philippines blog that I put up a few years ago was already given recognition by Privateer Press (the company who's behind WARMACHINE and HORDES).  They featured a small box in a page in their official magazine that greeted the WMPH community for having our second anniversary.  It may not be a big greeting, but to have it printed on the official magazine of the game, that's a lot for me.

It's cool to have the WMPH blog be the first to appear on the big search engines like Yahoo or Google when you type in "Warmachine" and "Philippines" on the search field.  It pretty much guarantees good traffic for non-Pinoys.  I guess that's how the PP people stumbled on the WMPH blog LOL

Some of our players are now making articles to put on it.  I can lift some of the articles and post them here, too.

Oh and I actually have a graphic link for this site from all my blogs!  So if people do visit them, TTW is a known partner and can get here as well (via clicking the graphic links).

Try again "boardgaming philippines".  Your post in this site came up in google.  Smiley

I've modified the Meta Tags in our website and placed some keywords etc.  It should help google and some search engines to spider our site.
