Speaking of Acquire, there was a version printed in the Philippines sometime in the late 60s or early 70s. A friend of mine picked one up at a charity sale a few years ago.

Does anyone know if the old 1999 version is still available at NG/H&L?

Nope.  That's gone and out of print.  They also say (board game aficionados from the outer planets) that this version is a rare one now.

I think I must have bought one of the few remaining copies of the 1999 version of Acquire from H&L.  I remember looking for it a few years ago and found only 1 left at MOA and 1 at Gbelt.  I've been doing some internet research and its said that the 1999 version has better components compared to the previous 1995 version and recent 2008 version making it high in demand.  The fact that its OOP makes it even more valuable.   

I have a copy of this game and thinking of selling it.  Its used but still in very good condition.  Just send me a PM with an offer and I'll think about it.  Alternatively, you can find copies for sale in ebay and BGG though.

I was able to get a 1999 copy from NG in 2008 at a large discount because the box was so faded (the components were in perfect shape though). I actually paid less for that copy compared to the 2008 reprint which I gave to my sister as a gift
