I second that.  Or if you are into PC strategy games, you could translate your preferred strategies from the PC unto the board. (Horde, Elite, Melee, Shooty, etc)

I would suggest you start w/ a human based faction (unless your not a racist ).
I would also suggest you get a faction w/ alot of available models.
Lastly i would suggest you attend one of the demo games

Most wargamers tend to chose a faction based on aesthetics, could you be one of them?

When do you guys play? So, I can watch and learn. The Red Blok seems interesting. I always love sneering pastiches of the Cold War era Mother Russia but something about Apes with battle armour that catches my attention. ^_^ If ever I go for Red Blok, what do I buy first? ^_^

If you want to start AT-43 it is HIGHLY suggested that you get the army box of the faction of your choice 1st. Every faction will get its own army box some are just released earlier than others. heres a vid of the red bloks army box, enjoy

Oni has evil executives going to war and they have zombies,whats not to love? ^_^ Sorry, all the factions have a thematic appeal to me.

If you know biohazard/resident evil, that faction is basically the umbrella corporation. Its a cool faction it was my 1st choice as well as the newest faction to be released by Rackham.

They have zombies w/ buzzsaws for hands! They're live infantry look like the kerberos panzer korp of jin-roh  

 The model range currently released are limited for now. All army boxes are standard retail at $70 however there are webstores that sell army boxes for more or less $50
