hey guys, it's been a while since i last asked a question like this:

i've practiced painting with p3 for as long as i can remember now. it's been a real badass ride Smiley but then, i saw them tamiya paints. at first i was skeptical: they were to thin when dried, and to flat of a finish. still, something inside me said that i should give it a chance. some of the hardcore scale modelers here have taught me how to thin these paints, and suddenly, they were from lame-ass to bad-ass. wow.

recently, i've painted some zealots for my army using their paints. actually, a hybrid really (basecoating flesh with khardic flesh then applying a thin layer of midlund flesh, rhulic gold for plates). honestly, i'm pretty happy with the results. honestly, i think it is safe for me to say that i paint WAAAAY better than i did before Smiley just curious though...is it strange for a guy to suddenly be attracted to using a paint brand that has been so lambasted for all this time? i mean, a LOT of guys complain about tamiya being too thick and sticky, but after i thinned them, they happened to work just fine for me. i don't know, maybe i just feel guilty for using another brand other than p3? i've been a purist before, but Tamiya paints have given me an exemption ^_^! huzzzahhhh Cheesy! what can you guys say :p? he hehe hehehe Cheesy

Go with whatever works for you, man.  In the end, the biggest fan of your work should be yourself.  Everyone else's comments will be secondary.

yeah man just go with what works for you Smiley

as long as you fell comfortable with using the particular brand and the results are good then there is nothing wrong with using a different brand. especially since it opens up a whole new range of colors to you as well as some other types of paint that might not be available under the p3 brand.

ummm... i for one have yet to use the p3 range of paint... XD haha i have too many pots at the moment XD Tongue

the other's Menite= Tamiya Deck Tan (seriously, kinda like white), Hull red outlines, redbrown boots, metal. will post pics soon nalang to compare :p hehehehe Cheesy

hmmm theres an idea... why not paint your zealots in different clothing? something like nomad warriors na halo halo yung tela ng uniform nila Tongue hehe and one unifying color lang on a prominent article of clothing like their turbans Cheesy

Greetings,

With the Open Gaming Meet moving to a new venue this April, we'd like to take this time to invite Warmachine Philippines to check it out and see if it can be a place to showcase your hobby.  In the past, the older venue was limited in space, but this time it can easily hold 15 tables comfortably - each table is the size of 2 square monobloc tables side by side.

The OGM will start at 1pm and end at 9:30pm, and during the first hour (1pm to 2pm) we'll be reserving some tables to be used by specific hobby genres, namely: Pen-&-Paper Role-Playing Games, Classic Wargames, Collectible / Trading Card Games, Miniatures Wargames, Party Card Games, Boardgames.  All the other tables are considered "free" and any game can be played on them.  Once the first hour has passed and a reserved table is still unoccupied, it is then reverted to a "free" status as well.

As long as you set-up the appropriate game within the reservation window, that game is the permanent representation of that genre for the day until - a) you decide to change games, b) you pack up for the day, c) you relinquish the table to another group of players that will be playing the same genre.  A game that is set up in the reserved tables can remain "idle".  By having a set-up game on "display", it might get the other participants of the OGM intrigued enough to learn about it.

When setting up a game on a "free" table, please make sure that there will be people playing it the moment you are finished setting up.  Should a game still be "idle" 15 minutes after the final set-up, we will ask the game to be packed up to free the table for others to use.  Although 15 long tables sounds like a lot, we would like to make sure that they are utilized as efficiently as possible, and will be revising the ground rules as we gain more experience in the new venue.

For those that are interested in checking out the upcoming OGM, you can find out more information at the Tabletop Wars forum.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.  We want to make the OGM enjoyable for all parties.

Hoping to see you there,
VJ Cabazor
Current OGM Host / Coordinator
