Throne World is an interstellar conquest game that came out at about the same time as the first edition of Twilight Imperium. Throne World is thought by some to be a better game, even though it has no plastic bits.

Players expand from their homeworld to explore systems, starting at the edges of a board and working inward towards the center Throneworld. The systems get progressively tougher as players move inward which often invovles battling units of greater size and/or technology level. The interesting mechanics allows players to choose 11 different unit types (6 space and 5 ground) to organize into fleets, explore and conquer worlds. In addition, there are four types of technology: Space Combat, Ground Combat, Jump (controls how far a fleet may move), and Communications (controls the distance you can control fleets). Players compete to be the first to control a finite number of systems for a full turn. Controlling the Throneworld counts as six (6) systems. -- Source: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2844

I'm itching to play my copy of this game. It's around 4-5 hours though so I need to have people commit to it. Can I draft 4-6 people to play this game? Maybe during the wargame meet (It has hexes and counters so it's a wargame right? Cheesy )

I'd play but I've already committed to another game for tomorrow.
