Khet 3D: Tower of Kadesh – Shipping Soon

Luke Hooper at Innovention Toys says that the Tower of Kadesh expansion for Khet – which was first shown at NY Toy Fair back in February 2007 – has finally arrived at the company’s warehouse. He adds, “After our full inspection they will begin shipping next week!”

The KHET 3D: TOWER OF KADESH expansion for KHET has been out in the market for a time now.

Known as Khet Mezzanine prior to release, this is a "second-story expansion" or tower for the Khet base game. Innovention president Luke Hooper was said to have pointed to the Battle of Kadesh between Egyptian and Hittite forces as an inspiration for the name.

At the top and bottom of the tower are a collection of mirrors that direct the lasers up and down four separate paths that connect an upper platform to the standard board. Not only can pieces move on that platform, but the entire platform can be moved and rotated.

If I can attend the August OGM I can bring my Khet base game and the Beam Splitter expansion.  I still don't have the 3D Tower expansion but I'm planning to get it in the future.

I haven't thought about selling my Khet base game as it has sentimental value to me.  The Beam Splitter is also a nice addition and it makes the game feel complete.  So don't expect me selling my Khet game set anytime soon. hehe

Create Your Own Setup

Here is a link to a cool tool that Khet fanatics can use to design their own setup.  Pieces can be dragged and dropped to any available location on the board. However, only red pieces can be placed on red squares and silver pieces on silver squares. Rotate a piece by selecting it and clicking on the rotate button that appears at the bottom right of the gameboard.
