If you guys recall i posted on Kragmortha on these bords last time... well in the spirit of humorous game I would like to introduce Quelf Cheesy

"Quelf is insanely fun and it's easy to play too. But the outcome of Quelf is anything but simple. As you move around the gameboard, crazy things start to happen. Players start talking weirdly. Your friend's face is wrapped in toilet paper. Your mom is talking like Dracula with her thumb on her forehead. You're sitting underneath the kitchen table until someone rolls a "4". And when the dust settles, the laughing finally stops and someone crawls away the winner, you realize you've never had this much fun playing a board game in your life!"

-discription from the BGG site

i got to know this game from the PI store the other day. havent really bought it yet but got to know how it runs and got to see the cards with the 'punishments'. this is one of those games that will deffinitely leave memories ... im just not certain if it will be pleasant for all concerned... but rest assured you will not be alone in your embarassment Smiley

some punishments of note are :

- wear someones sock on your left hand as a sock puppet
- pretend your making a documentary of the person next to you with an invisible camera
- players on the same tile need to hold hands
- erm etc?

haha yes you get to see grown men holding hands ...

here is a gamer's account on his review on BGG Smiley

"During a New Year’s Eve party, myself, my wife and several friends played the game, or rather let the game play us. From the beginning, one player was forced to recite lines backwards while holding her wrists to her head. Another jotted down a new four-letter word each round, such as ‘‘milk,’’ and penalized any player who accidentally used the forbidden word. Any players whose characters occupied the same space on the gameboard had to hold hands, which, with six people sitting at a fairly long table, made for some awkward dice-rolling. I had to make flushing noises anytime another player faced a penalty, all while wearing one of my wife’s socks on my right hand."

game
dice
play
roll
pick
move
what
that
this
turn
over
done

...try playing something without using any of these Wink

i just had to post my experience with this game...

Game Grab has a copy of this game that not alot of people really notice. I decided to have a group of friends (relatively new to the whole boardgame experience in GC) to try it out. What ensued was a madcap of the funniest, most random activities I have ever seen. Everything from running out the door and back again acting like a boomerang to asking permission from your feet before you speak to saying "Whatever" whenever somebody says your name made us laugh till our sides split! Amazing game! It has toppled over my long fav party game Cranium. Now I'll have to get myself one XD

Yes, it was,

During my time as GM there, it and Cranium got a lot of milage from groups.  Its advantage over Cranium is that it doesn't need teams.

You need to have to be willing to do some silly things, although there's always the option to take the penalty if you find the task too embarrassing.
