Hobbes & Landes was born out of a love for boardgames.  It began as a small specialty store in July 2002 by the Pesengco and Sun families.

Hobbes & Landes aim to be the place and destination for families and friends of all ages who love nothing more than simply gathering together for wholesome fun over a good cup of coffee and great dessert.  They strive to promote the lifestyle and values of learning, caring, relationship-building and inspiration through fun and discovery.

I doubt I'm breaking any code of ethics by sharing an inside info I got from a Hobbes & Landes warehouse employee.  (Don't ask how I know d guy). 
Anyway, I confirmed d info w/ Ian, d H&L Promenade store manager, & he confirmed it.  So here's d scoop:

All HOBBES & LANDES outlets will have an inventory sale this February 13th (Friday) till March 1.

Most (if not all) will be guaranteed 10% off while selected items will be discounted upto 80%!

So better save up you discount shoppers.  U can guarantee I'm gonna b checking out d stores when this day comes.

Hope I get applauded @ least for this nugget of info.

dropped by MoA branch. Most games were 10% off lang. They had their >10% discounts in the center shelf where there werent alot of boardgames. Noted were several Scene It games if anyone is interested

Actually, that's a bit of a surprise.

Chineezpnoy and I did an H&L store hopping marathon last friday.  Funny thing was, it was not coordinated at all!  I just happened to see him in the Shang H&L... then I had dinner in Greenhills... then coincidentally saw him again at Promenade H&L after.

According to the four H&L stores I visited (H&L universe, Greenbelt 5, Shangrila, and Promenade), all goods in the store are 10% off.  Now, CP and I actually saw a couple of good deals on board games, like:
* a couple of kosmos 2-player card games at P300
* blue box games by faidutti (dragon's gold, draco & co, democrazy, etc) at P200
* a couple of medium to heavy boardgames (mostly by game company "Euro Games") being sold for anything between P400 to P700
* some train and sea boardgames (silverton, empire builder, railroad tycoon, etc) being sold for between P1000 to P1500

Some of my hakot:
- Democrazy, Dragon's Gold, and Draco & Co for P200 each
- Bamboleo (dexterity game) at P800
- Valley of the Mammoths (thematic thriller reco from Titus) at P430

I know CP bought lots of stuff -- like Clippers, Dragon Delta, Heroscape stuff, more blue boxes, Sanctuary, Railroad Tycoon -- at like 30% to 70% discount.

But maybe after CP and I did our H&L hopping... wala nang naiwan na boardgames on sale. Wahahaha.

Hobbes and Landes are now selling nice magnetic Go boards for those who are interested. They're foldable and the size of your average magnetic chess set and it has enough space for the pieces.

However, they have problems closing so better buy a good strap or rubber band too.
