Haha don't get discouraged.  Not all of us are blessed with being born with a silver spoon in one's mouth.  I'm no rich boy.  I scrimp and save for this hobby - buying the books, the models, the paint, the supplies.  Heck, I commute lugging around a big bag just so I can play LOL!  Very few can buy a whole army in one trip to the store.

But of course, miniature wargaming isn't for everybody.  Might as well jump into it fully-decided rather than starting it half-heartedly and regretting it in the end.

And sorry, we have no boosters in Warmachine.  You get the model you want, not buy a sealed box and hope you get lucky.  Single models in blisters are around P450 and above (although these is the Reinholdt gobber model which is about P250).  There are warjacks in blisters, but the really good sculpts are in boxes, which would range around P1,250 above.

I have nothing against people who play "booster" games like Clix and CCGs.  I just don't dig having a distinct advantage because one can buy more booster packs than anyone else in a day (because I myself can't afford to do so).  In the field of games I play, you pick what you want and not rely on BLIND luck to get the "edge" model.  Model stats atre written in the rulebooks, together with special rules and points equivalent.  So in a 500-point game, you pick who'll lead your army, and what troops or warjacks you want to field.  Then you purchase and assemble and paint them at your own pace.

I've been collecting/painting my Khador army since August of last year.  I pretty much rounded out the 500 points I need by this time, and so does everyone else in the community.

Fact of the matter is, any hobby is expensive.  It just boils down to expense management LOL!

I've played Warhammer since 2000 and have only started Warmachine last August (although I've been reading about it way before LOL).  Both are great games (and since no game has a perfect system, these two are no exception).  I've always enjoyed the idea of painting and customizing the toys I use to wage war with hehe.

Huge models?  The biggest you'd see in WM would be the heavy warjacks, but moreso with the Apotheosis heavies like Emp's Deathjack and Obi's Thunderhead.  Those mudders are HUGE!

But as Warhammer has more freedom with converting models, you'll see desk fan-sized Titans (Lito has two of those), funky Battlefortresses (Pork has those too).  Those are pretty expensive though (heck I wouldn't buy them if I had the means LOL).

Hello, salamangkero.  I don't believe we've met personally but I welcome the challenge ^_^

Hammersmith, eh?  So you have a Cygnar army.  You should drop by the regular WM sessions at UPCFA and Hobby Haven ^_^

Hordes?  What faction are you building?  I'm leaning towards Skorne and/or Everblight.  But I'm fighting the urge LOL!

you've forgotten me already?? im the same salamangkero from the privateer press forums hehehehehe.  i've been playing cygnar since the launch of prime and i've sold off most of my khador to help with hordes.  i've kept my khador boxed set and the butcher, mainly for demos.

i'd love to drop by and play but im pretty far, i'll be in manila later this year so i may be able to drop by then.  as for my hordes i've gotten legion and trollbloods but i still dont quite know w/c particular faction fo focus on.  i love the idea of the shredders and carvinean but he dire trolls are just too  cool.

hmm we should get the boys to post pics here..

WARMACHINE is a miniature tabletop wargame, and i'm sure they'll stay that way.. (i have models in 40K that defy the term miniature)

Hobby Haven is a shop near ADMU(go right thru the street beside KFC katipunan) along the same building where Tapa King is located, its at the corner end of the building.

Warmachine plays more like a clix game to me in terms of combos and is akin to mechwarrior in terms of facing(not in the rear pls!)

i'd say the starters most worth it are that of Khador and Cryx

I've been going back to the official site's gallery and I have to say I really like many of the figures, in particular the ff:

Cygnar
Sword Knights
Lt. Allister Caine
Gun Mage and Gun Mage Adept
Stormblades

Khador
Widowmakers (specially the Kapitan)
Vlad the Dark Prince

I have to ask - are these available here?  How much?

Widowmakers don't come individually.  They're four in a box which costs around P2K.  Vlad the Dark Prince is around P600.

I don't know about the Cygnar stuff.
