Vs System CCG Canceled

Since the beginning of 2009, Upper Deck Entertainment has been carefully considering the future of the Vs. System trading card game. At this time, we have decided that we are unable to move forward with the original vision of the game as a universal Super Hero trading card game platform featuring multiple comic universes.

For some time now, we’ve attempted to realign ongoing set releases with this vision. However, certain factors forced us to move to an adjusted bi-annual release schedule, which consequently made it difficult to market and sell the game to new consumers. This, unfortunately, has prompted us to discontinue future releases of the Vs. System game.

This was a very difficult decision, as we are extremely proud of Vs. System’s five-year history, its 25 releases, and most importantly, its world-class dedicated player base. We would like to thank you for your support as fans and players of our game.

Sad, but I have to say even I saw this coming (and I played the game only very casually).

I hope they make an LCG style fixed set on their way out.

wait for FFG to pick it up, they have a nack of making money (and a still good game system) off of dead or dying CCGs.
