Just wondering.. I inquired about prices in PI (emailed them) and it seemed their patong is insanely high. They're selling Small World for 100SGD when in the US it's just 50USD tops. (Almost a 1k PHP diff)

I'm trying to look for other shops in SG, but I'm relatively new to the scene so are huge price differences like these normal?

Unfortunately yes, mataas sila magpatong. PI is among the larger of the boardgame sellers in SG (if not the largest) so they have the largest list of boardgames. Other shops are more like H&L and Neutral Grounds which have a mixed inventory of hobby games, or are boardgame cafes that dont really sell games. Last I was there I tried looking around for options too but really fell back into PI. They sometimes have killer deals if you look hard enough. Popular and new games will most certainly be expensive.

If Alger's membership is still active it might be of help.

I believe it's Orchard Emerald, just opposite Sommerset MRT station.

ah...that's right.  my bad.  I know how to get there, but the name of the building always escapes me.  it's an unobtrusive little shopping arcade. It took me 3 years before I knew the place existed.  Just look for the electronic shop that occupies the first two floors in the front, and all several adult shops, lingerie, and numerous nail salons inside the building. ha ha!

Sadly, boardgames from any SG shop comes out alot more expensive than local prices (if you can find local copies to compare that is). But the fact that they have so much stock of it makes me forget the price difference :p
