New Cookie Fu website is up. Smiley  http://www.cookiefu.com/

There's new fortune cookies (yes, real cookies you can eat).  The new Clan Cookies are for the Lemon Dragons.  Each cookie has a chi powered move inside.

Here's the list of moves: Tongue

Stinging Spittle Strike
Citrus Circle Kick
Great
Golden Grip
Acerbic Armor
Prickly Puckered Poke
Caustic Coils
Soured Defense
Rake of the Yellowed Rind
Two-tart Toss
Tangy Talons

I'll try to get ahold of some of these. Smiley

Cheers,
Zhen

I now have tons of cookie fu dice.  Enough for a 12 player tourney.  Even more players if the fortune (initiative) dice are shared. I also have a bunch of promo dice for the expansion Death By Dim Sum, which no incorporates weapons into the mix. Smiley Anyone interested in giving cookie fu a shot?

Cheers,
Zhen

hey guys, I did some digging, and this is what is considered "official" league rules:

League play is a non-structured event.  A player can play against anyone else, but must not play any player two games in a row.  Players are awarded for number of matches played, and attaining new skill levels.  At the end of the season, the player with the highest points is awarded the grand prize. Other top players are awarded for top rank finishes.

League Rules:
1) Each player will receive a score card to fill out.
2) players must select cookie fu moves at the beginning of the season.
3)Upon reaching the next level, players select appropriate dice and new move for the level.  These selections cannot be changed.
4) Score cards will be collected at the end of each week for point tally.
5) At the end of the season, prizes are awarded to top players.

Players may play anyone else in the league.  Only matches against league members will qualify for points.  Players play the best 2 of 3 games, and write the results on the score card. Players sign each other's cards for verification of the match.

If a player challenges another player that is 2 or more skill levels higher, the higher skilled player only counts the match as played, but not as a win.  When a player reaches a new level, the appropriate dice and moves are added.  At the end of the season, prizes will be awarded.

This was taken from an old file from the Cookie Fu group.  I have a few changes, but nothing major.  What do you guys think?

Cheers,
Zhen

Hey Alger,

so far, you, Rolf and Aerol have expressed interest in a league.  I'm thinking I need at least 6 players to start.  Right now, including me, there are 4.

My thought to generate more interest, league members don't have to have dice, they can borrow from other league members.  I know I've got tons of dice here to borrow out. ha ha!

How many times have you played so far, btw?

Have Rolf bring some to the OGM. That would rum up interest - also there's gonna be a CCG meet by PUGS on 23rd at Vibal again - CCG players would love something like this.

if Rolf is willing, I can pass him some starters for OGM.  I can't make this next one. Sad  I can even come up with some pre-gen fighters as well.

One thing immediately sprang to mind - as posted above, there are no penalties for losing.  Will that be the case for the final rules?

I've been tossing around different ideas on a losing penalty.  Trying to come up with something fair. Penalties for characters at same level would work, but not sure if the work for higher vs. lower level character.

When a lower level character fights a higher level, they would get bonus points for defeating a higher level character.  That's incentive to try.  But, if they lose, which they would have a high risk to doing so, is it fair to penalize them?

And for the the higher level players,  if I come up with a penalty for losing, there would be no reason for them to fight lower level characters.  As of now, they would get no win points for winning against a lower character, just match played points.  Which mean's they can't fight a lower level character, win, and count the win toward their advancement.  If I throw penalties into the mix, higher level characters would shy away from lower level characters on the off chance they get beaten.

And depending on how many players, there may not be enough high level fighters to fight each other, so they would be stuck fighting lower level fighters. Then they would be stuck with few ways to advance, and risky penalty fights.

 erm... am I making sense?

Just a matter of creating loss penalties that are fair for everyone. *sigh* back to the drawing board. Ha ha!
