I learned about this game through Titus.  Before I told myself to only have one Train themed board game and that is Ticket To Ride: Europe.  But the many positive reviews about Age of Steam and it's family of games changed my mind.  I'm on the edge of getting any one of the three games below.

I am having a hard time deciding which one to get from these:

- Age of Steam 3rd Edition
- Steam
- Railroad Tycoon

Maybe I'll wait for Steam to come out in the market and scan some reviews first.

So that just leaves Steam as d only game left not available in our lil community IIRC?

Unless some1 has another copy of Railroad Tycoon, I'd rather let that out-of-print baby sit in my Stock Room for a while sinz I still got tons of other games that have yet to be played sinz I brought them back in 2005.
>_<

Majority (if not all) of d old or UDR ("under d radar") games I taught & played w/ Earl & Cath was a hit.

At d NGG its another story since we just let our senior NGG player/ member teach d old & UDR games to d gang.
Having experience in teaching games & having only one (1) person explaining seems to work better so far  Wink

Steam isn't available in our community yet cause Steam is not out on the market yet.  To be released sometime in the next few weeks I hear.

I've been thinking of getting a train game. Which one is better, Age of Steam, Steam or Railroad Tycoon? Smiley

Togashi, it depends.  All three games have expansions which extend their replayability so that's something they've all got going for them.  However, of the three, Age of Steam is the most unforgiving (but also the one with the most expansions).  Railroad Tycoon is the most family friendly (I use the term loosely) and Steam is somewhere in the middle.

Railroad Tycoon has been rebranded into Railways of the World (just in case you didn't know) and is easily available thru Gaming Library and other reliable retailers (the same can be said about Steam). Cheesy

Thank, Gerald. Might get the middle ground Steam instead. I was introduced by Panda to one or the other but I don't know which one Smiley

Well, the collector in me gave in. I finally decided to get Martin Wallace's Totally Renamed Train Game from Mayfair Games. Accordingly, only 350 are ever produced. Anyone want to try it with me? Adrian, Jay, Tom? Smiley

Isn't that the same as Steam, just with a funny box cover?  I mean, same rules, etc.
