Archie’s Getting Married!?

Say it isn’t so!  The guy who gets to date two girls at the same time is finally making a decision on who he wants to be with - in a big way.

Could it be true?  Has Archie finally decided to take the plunge and propose to one of comics’ favorite girls?  It sure looks that way!  Earlier this year readers got a chance to relive “Freshman Year” with the famous teens of Riverdale High.  Now make way for this special story that takes a look at Archie and his friends after they graduate college!  What careers will they seek?  Will the friends stay in Riverdale or disperse?  What would lead Archie to have marriage on his mind?  And who would he choose Veronica or Betty?  How will Betty react?  How will Veronica react?  Can Archie shake off his klutzy past and hold down a steady job… for more than a month?  One thing is certain: this will be the biggest Archie Comics story ever!

Knowing the comics industry that would hype it up, have the proposal, have both girls reject the proposal and then back to status quo.... I wouldn't also put it above them that the whole thing would just be a dream sequence or another similar cop-out.

So you mean after spending 50 or so years in high school, a few crossovers here and there, a few animated tv shows, a run in with the Punisher (I kid you not), he's finally getting married?

I hate to break it to you kids, but Peter Parker isn't a 50-something, beer bellied, retired superhero.

Let's not forget the Back to Riverdale movie...but even then, the writers didn't marry him off to either Betty or Veronica...

The Love Showdown story arc also proposed to have Archie choose between Betty or Veronica. The story ended with the reintroduction of Cheryl Blossom and Archie choosing her but things pretty much fell back to what they were.

But given how Archie comics now handles their stories (continuity is much more present now), here's hoping for a significant event, or at least something different like the art style in Bad Boy Trouble.

I have seen it as well. I have a feeling that there would be a twist though... especially if you read between the lines
