Kewl!  Cool

Whew this is a hectic time for me.  Was able to produce a tarp banner for TW, got a standee, and hoping to print a few more TW flyers to bring.  We are definitely going to the event!  Yahoooo!  Grin

So how was the event?

So how was the event?

The event I think was a success.  Smiley There were many attendees in the late afternoon.  There were many tables and the area is very spacious.  The only thing we didn't like is the distracting sound system of MSI's nearby booth.  But it's a small price to pay I guess for gaming at the mall.  I saw people passing-by get curious with what we are doing so the promotion the hobby was able to achieve regarding this event is a good thing.  I just wish we had more flyers to give away as it would have been better if we were able to provide more information to those curious folks as a follow-through to lure them into the hobby.  Grin  But all-in-all the core OGM Organizers and PUGS did a very good job!  Wink The OGM event continued on as a monthly event.  Lots of gamers were able to get their gaming fix in a large environment setting that again made some strong impression to the public that the local hobby gaming scene is growing.  Smiley

Here are some suggestions I can think of to make the OGM even better:

  • Have a sign near the front desk that informs people that they can join the event for PHP 50 entrance fee.  I noticed some people didn't know what the event was and if they go inside to play etc.
  • Make a medium size poster stand available near the entrance that explains what the OGM is about.  What people can find inside and what they can do there.
  • Maybe if would be nice if there is a stand to hold up the games not being currently played so the box cover will be displayed in an upright position to those people passing-by.  (I think Vic told me they are planning to do this in the future).

Vic will probably post a report later about the event and I'll also post some pics later.  Smiley

Had a great time. Chie and I went to SM Marikina at around 7, played Wasabi. Got hungry for Japanese food, so we (Chie, Adrian, me) trooped to Teriyaki Boy for a very late dinner.

Thanks for organizing the event, everyone! Despite the late announcement (hehe), there was still a good-sized turnout.

Thanks for the suggestions, Brel,

Most of what you have listed were things that we had also come to realize and had already been talking about when the event ended.  Nothing like a third party to corroborate our findings. Grin

Suggestions from other participants are more than welcome. Smiley

Furthermore, please post your travelling experience to the event.  One of the participants has already suggested a fix on the map I had made (route coming from Ortigas) and will e-mail me the corrections.

Any additional suggestions are equally welcome. Wink

You're very much welcome, ladies, Grin

Tybalt had a similar experience when he told me that the only drawback with playing Wasabi was the fact that you'd hanker for Japanese food afterwards - that explains why Rej, her parents, and Oneal decided to have dinner after playing the game.

Looks like they're not the only one victimized. Cheesy
