Stronghold is a 2-4 player game designed by Polish designer Ignacy Trzewiczek.  The same person who designed Witchcraft.  It will be published by Portal a Polish game publisher.

The game is about a... SIEGE... enough said. There will be 2 sides.  The ones inside the ones outside.  People outside can build various siege engines, or try to fight on the wall also there is a resource collection/management required for the attackers to fund their siege.  The guys inside have to pretty much survive the siege or else... they will be the guys executed.  So the guys inside can build their own siege engines, cauldrons with hot burning oil, train their troops etc etc.  Also the game has great art

Which will always be a good thing for me.

I have been reading the dev diaries so far and I think that the mechanics in the game will be great.  The devs are trying to make it a game where the guys outside is a great mass of endless faceless troops where a death wouldnt really mean anything but on the inside every single troop will matter.  With that kind of goal I am thinking that this can be a little WotR or something like that where a small band will be fighting against a larger way bigger posse.

Wow!  Sounds exciting, when is it expected to be finished?

Cool! I hope the game's customizeable so I can use it in medieval fantasy RPGs (if ever I'm getting this)... instead of role-playing a siege, players and GMs can just play this game :p

I am soooo looking forward to this but the bad news is it seems like there is not going to be enough copies to go around until they find a US publisher Sad

This looks like a nice game.  It somewhat reminds of Ghost Stories though with a different theme.  In Ghost Stories, players (in the center of the board which is considered as the town) are besieged by ghosts attacking from all sides.  They need to survive and fight off the phantoms as well as destroy the "big boss" near the end in order to win the game.  Ghost Stories is a cooperative game and players have one mission which is to defeat the game while Stronghold looks like it has more interactive mechanics.  The theme also seems interesting enough and makes me want to try it out when it is finally released.
