I admit it. I'm usually wary of party games.

I come to gaming meets to smash monsters and to push cubes so I usually hold my breath when somebody brings out a party game. "Ay caramba! I went all the way here for this??" (aka Southron pain and angst)

But every once in a while, a party game surprises me. And then even makes me go "Holy shit! This is fun stuff koya!" It happened to me with Time's Up: Title Recall, and I think ladies and gentlemen.. it's happened again to me with Dixit.

Yes. Potentially you'll run into replayability issues with it (if you've played with certain people in the group before, you can develop codes for the cards). But all that goes away once you go for your second game. Yes! The group will beg for a second game. I assure you (theoretically by then you've already exhausted most of your codes so playing field is almost balanced).

It's simple. Easy to set-up. Easy to teach. And everybody enjoys it. Best of all, it's the kind of game ladies will play. And, and, and I see great potential in it as a drinking game. Yes. I said it. It's a boardgame that's potentially a drinking game with the ladies. "Holy grail of geekhood batman!"

Go. Grab a copy now. Run!

Aaaaaaaaaaand Jake discovers Time's Up: Title Recall and Dixit!  We wondered when you would. Cheesy

Have you seen the Dixit 2 expansion cards?  There's a whole new set of 84 cards!  Which makes a whooping 168 cards now.

And by June, they'll release Dixit Oddysey, adding another 84 new cards.

Replayability issues? What's that? Cheesy

Oh I've known about TU:TR for quite some time now. I've even brought it to after office inumans and it's been a hit! I'm convinced that party games may be better at easing people into the hobby than gateway games! Moar gamers! Woot!

Dixit I just played last Tuesday! Obviously I liked it!

But damn it Adrian those extra cards are tempting. A bajillion more cards just might solve those "replayability" issues haha. I'm probably gonna be OC and get the sleeves as long as they don't cost an arm and a leg.

Damn it why didn't I get lucky and get this in the Math Trade!

Congratulations! Yeah Dixit is certainly a blast to play. I've found that even with Base set I never felt that I would need more than a little imagination to just keep playing it regardless of new content.
