Being a father of 2 kids, I am always on the lookout for games that my kids can enjoy with me and my wife.  Since my kids are relatively young (3 years old and 1 year old), its not easy to find a game that they can understand and play.  Then during one of our trips to the mall, I stumbled upon Loopin' Louie.  It was love at first sight for my daughter, who loved hitting the plane and laughed each time she was able to cause one of my egg tokens to fall.  With a relatively cheap price tag, I quickly bought this game and have since played it with several friends who ended up enjoying it as much (if not more) that I do.  For all these reasons (and then some), I give this game an 8/10.

But let's take a quick look at the rules and the components, just so you know what you'll be getting into should you decide to purchase one.

Disclaimer: I have a Japanese copy of the game (its not language dependent anyway) and I'm rating the components based on that fact.  I do not know what the components are like for the German/English version.

Rules are easy.  In front of each player (this game can play up to four) is a paddle.  Whenever Loopin' Louie (who's riding a plane) flies in front of you, you hit the paddle causing the thieving Louie to change course and not hit your egg tokens.  The last player with egg tokens remaining wins.  That's it.  It is that easy.  Hence, even my daughter who's only 3 can play this game and play it quite well.

Components are a different matter altogether.  The stickers that came with the copy I got were crappy at best.  Some have already lost most of their adhesive properties.  Louie's eyes would come off each time we hit him and his plane's propeller would fly off every now and then as well.  The plastic components used for the paddles were a little flimsy, I wish they were better made, but borderline serviceable.

But all-in-all... it was a great purchase.  The enjoyment it has given my family, my friends and myself so far have easily outweighed the measly price I paid for it.  If you have a chance, get this game.  It won't disappoint you if you take it for what it is.  An extremely quick filler that everyone can enjoy.
