Chapter 04: Against the Kobolds

[OOC:Hello everyone! Sorry for the LOOOOOONG delay. Real Life Concerns + sudden work hit me.

That, and I wasn't ready for the system changes that are heralded by Mr. Presto's actions --> my transition to the Castles and Crusades system, hehe.

So what's up next? Well, the attacks of all the opponents come next, their effects on your party, and then the changes in the world take effect.]

ooc: Hey guys, my internet access has been restored. I, too, am eager to know where the arcing magic missle would lead.

Four muscular kobolds drop from the rope. Enraged by the death of their comrade, they all attack Boris!

Unfortunately for them, only two their blows manage to hit the battle-savvy Boris... and neither of their attacks penetrate Boris's armor!

[OOC: after a misadventure with the dice log because of misuse, the dice rolls were -- 11, 18, 1, and 4.]

Meanwhile, up on the roof of the cave, Blackjack and Hagar feel a strange buzzing surround them then suddenly solidify!

[OOC: Blackjack must make a saving throw - roll d20 please! You need a 14 or better or you're held fast. Hagar, who rolled a 4, failed and is stuck!]

Portia takes advantage of Boris being the center of attention and looses an arrow at the kobolds, but misses!

Finally, the other robed kobold -- the one uninterrupted by arrows -- finishes casting a spell and a bolt of light darts from the cave mouth, curves past Boris and strikes Gregor on the shoulder (1+1=2hp damage)!

OOC - got a 14 even!

Blackjack shrugs off the magic that tried to claim him.  Dropping his bow and snatching up his short sword, he runs toward Hagar, in the hopes that he can protect him, or better, help free the fighter.

Upon seeing the magic strike upon Gregor, Eren's resolve to take down these robed kobolds intensified. If these creatures are capable of wielding magic and are the cause of the corrupted nature of the cave, then they are far more dangerous than an ogre.

"Make swift my arrow-blade. Find your mark", he mutters as he lets a second arrow fly towards the same robbed kobold...

[Rolf]

Boris's eyes light up.  "Another fray!  T'ings are looking up!!"   He wades into battle, humming under his breath.

"Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come, but I ain't the same
Mama, I'm coming home..."
