he Napoleon's War Series are games that give players the French Army of Napoleon against the foes of France from 1796 -1815. Each game will include battles that have their own custom game boards, plastic figures representing the infantry, artillery, and cavalry with counters representing the special units, leaders, etc. Each battle within the game are playable in 1 to 2 hours. The game uses the Hold the Line command action point (CAP) system.
Here're some pictures of the contents and the miniatures that come with the game:
The first game in the series is Napoleon's War: The 100 Days with custom game boards of Quatre Bras, Ligny, Wavre, and Waterloo. 120 plastic pieces in blue, red, and gray portray the French, British, and Prussian armies.
This game could be a cheaper (a heck of alot cheaper) alternative to Battles of Napoleon: The Eagle & The Lion. The system is also more proven as this is an adaptation (some say even improvement) of the Hold the Line Series from Worthington Games.
Some comments from BGG:"So far, after 3 plays, this game is a real winner. It captures the essential flavor of a Napoleonic battlefield without a ton of rules. The fun factor is off the scale." -- David Schubert"The Hold the Line system has been successfully applied to the Napoleonic Wars. The rules are a bit more involved, but this is still a very accessible game." -- Sean Chick
