This is one of the few non wargames that I like very much and very fortunate to get a copy a few years ago at regular price when it was already out of print.  I've played this with just about everyone including my mom, sisters and cousins and always had hilarity ensue.  This one is a keeper for me.

Description from BGG:
Rarely is a game stripped down to its bare essense as cleanly as this game is. Up to sixteen deals can be made over the course of the game, and a player who successfully makes a deal is given a certain amount of money. In order to close the deal, however, he will need to seek help from the other players in exchange for a piece of the payoff. Complicating matters quite bit, each player has a hand of action cards which can be used to derail negotiations. After ten deals have been made, a die is rolled each turn to determine if the game is over, with the victory going to whoever has the biggest bankroll.

The game was republished by Face 2 Face Games in 2003.

For those who are looking for a copy, check out the BGG marketplace, Amazon or eBay section:

Good, fun game! Recommended for fun and laughs, and ranks up there with the best 'party-like' games, but with a bit more calculated risk-taking and diplomacy.

you forget the fact that you need to not get derailed with the 10 sec countdown with obvious delaying tactics (uncanny ability ni Vlad)

Actually, there is no exact rule that says when the deal is closed but it does say that there should be enough time given for the rest to participate whether to screw other people or negotiate further.  The 10 second countdown is fine too and adds tension for the rest of the players to negotiate or play a card quickly. In the other games I've played its usually auction style where someone says "going once... going twice... closed!"

But hey, whatever it takes to make a buck!  I've been thrown out of some of the deals in the game too   Grin

U.S. publisher Face 2 Face Games entered the market with a new version of Sid Sackson's Kohle, Kie$ & Knete titled I'm the Boss! in 2004. That game, along with a new version of Sackson's Can't Stop, have been the best received releases from the publisher – but I'm the Boss! has been out of print for a couple of years, leaving gamers to scour shelves for used copies as in the dark days of 2003.

Thankfully, though, you'll soon be able to backstab and trick and outmaneuver your fellow players once again as Face 2 Face Games has a new version of I'm the Boss! on the way, with the game expected to be available before the end of September 2010. For those who haven't played, a summary of the game:

Quote
Each player represents one or more families, and certain families need to agree on how to split the money up for grabs in various deals that will be presented during the game. Cashman and Wadsworth might need to sign off on a certain deal, for example, while either Liebgeld or Dougherty canfill in for the third party in the deal.
Once a player tries to attempt to complete a deal, he's the boss and negotiates with everyone who represents those families – but other players can get in on the act, representing uncles and third-cousins in the needed families and offering to do the deal for less money. Different people can become boss to try to swing the deal their way, and family members can be sent on vacation – or outright stolen – in order to put more money in your pocket. Whoever has the most loot when the game ends wins.
