Fantasy Flight Games has announced Blood Bowl: Team Manager - The Card Game, designed by Eric M. Lang and Corey Konieczka, a standalone game of deck-building action that takes 2-4 players through the cutthroat excitement of an entire Blood Bowl season, all in about an hour.

You’re the coach, and you’ll customize your deck by grabbing the best new draft picks, or employ devious tactics to take your opponent’s Star Players out of the game...for good.

We’re calling every armchair quarterback who thinks they can lead a rowdy group of some of the roughest, toughest creatures in the Old World to victory…your time has come!

It's a game that I will play. Seems like a Dominion type game but I just love Blood Bowl and would try this out

Yeah Dominion clones are a dime a dozen these days, but with Eric Lang and Corey K. behind it, I'll be watching this closely to see how well it can differentiate itself.

Heard that they've revamped the gameplay so this is no longer strictly a deckbuilding game. Eric M. Lang and Corey Konieczka are also no longer the leads associated with the project and in their place is Jay Little.

Nonetheless, the theme has got me hooked. 6 assymetrical factions battling out on a wacky football field. Shades of fantasy sports. Where do I sign up? Haha.

If anything, I am so glad this is NOT an LCG Played this on the PC and found it exceedingly hilarious and I am hoping this "painful" humor is well transferred into the flavor of this game. I already foresee roleplays of those lovable commentators Bod and Jim happening as this game is played

Saw this playing in the OGM, got myself a copy, and had my first game today.

We had 3 players:  Chaos (Chaos All-Stars), Dwarves (Grudgebearers), and Elves (Athelorn Avengers).

All-in-all, the Avengers won two tournaments, the Grudgebearers won the Blood Bowl, but the All-Stars topped off with 39 fans!  Their opponents had 29 and 25 apiece, with the Avengers taking last place.

What's weird was that, before the Blood Bowl, the Avengers were first with 15, the All-Stars with 14, and the Grudgebearers had 12 fans.

It's strategic, chaotic, and incredibly fun.  Everyone expressed a willingness to play it until they were sick and tired of it, but, of course, my other games need to hit the table as well.

Game has been getting such good feedback. Excited to get my copy. Looks like this can solve the 3 player quick game limbo that few games can service. (My 4+ game of choice is 7 wonders)
