Hey, just floating this by you guys - there are some games in my collection that I would really like to see hit the table on a regular basis. Can't do that at Friday Nights @ Hobbymania because some of these games are long - Civilization and Samurai Swords being the main culprits. I can see some owners of Twilight Imperium and other big games wanting them to hit the table on a monthly basis - at least to get a big RoI.

I suspect others are in a same quandary - we'd really like some games to be played on a weekly or at least monthly basis but the usual game meetups are more for learning different games than for a regular game. Plus some players want variety in gaming and not the same old, same old.

As for me, I'm willing to host a Civ game a week - the game is just great for portability purposes - and a Samurai Swords game a month . The problem is regular players and venues - plus time; I may have some rescheduling for next year and that may give me some free time to run a regular Civilization league.

Yes, I am looking too for regular gaming sessions for a couple of games as I prefer depth over breadth. I notice outside, they have tuesdays RFTG and some board game stuff on a specific day. Maybe we can have this implemented here. For now what we can do is to have a list of games per player that they wanted to play on regular basis. From there we can create a gaming group for that game where they can run some tournament/league.

As for myself, these are the games I wanted to play on regular basis:
- RFTG
- Summoner Wars
- GoSu
- Neuroshima Hex
- Puerto Rico

The gaming group over at http://www.gamerchris.com/ has a very good system imho. They call it GOTM or Game of the Month wherein one game is nominated to be played at least once in all gaming sessions. This is with the thinking that to truly appreciate a game, it needs to be played several times. At the same time, you satisfy casual gamers who may want to play something else since the whole gaming session is not dedicated to one game only.

That being said, we just need two things, a regular schedule to play games (which exists already but a new schedule can be made for this) and a consensus game to be played at least once in all sessions. I'm sure a democratic process can be in order haha.

(I understand that the longer games may very well take up the whole gaming session, but that is up for the gaming group to decide if they are fine with their GOTM being that way. It's only for a month after all Tongue)

Haha, actually, what I want is one group dedicated to just one game or at the most two games. Kinda like Twilight Imperium one week, then another big game, then balik sa Twilight Imperium. Para parang may continuity. You can get variety from another gaming meetup pero I'd like a stable place to hone strategy. para high-level play lahat. hahaha

Which thread in particular? Or gawa ba tayo bagong thread? Hehehe.

I'm thinking, just to be democratic, everybody posts ONLY 1-2 games that they're willing to play in their collection which will form the GotM title pool. Then we do a vote! And you can't vote for your own game para fair Grin

Just say the word dyeyk, and I'll bring my copy, with expansion.  Just make sure we have four other interested gamers, and around 6 to 8 hours free time (especially since some players will be newbies).  Cheesy
