http://www.gaminglib.com/gamestore.htm

Our Game Store is now fully functional (although we might have missed uploading some pictures). You can now try and see how easy it is to order from Gaming Library!

Alternatively you can try out our products tab and order through facebook! Yes that's right, no need to go to our website, just use facebook and go to our fan page and look for the products tab! Ordering now has never been easier! =)

Comments on the new lay-out.

- Who's your target market here? Are you expecting the casual gamer to look at this? or the veteran gamer? I feel there's a disconnect. Christmas list, Best Sellers seem to be geared towards the casual.. while the more common groupings like Thematic Games, Family Games seem to be geared towards the veteran gamer. The site looks jumbled in that sense.

- I've never found the usual genres of the hobby very useful. Thematic, Family and Party seem so broad.. and I end up looking through all the lists anyway, as if you might as well have grouped them together in the first place. Why don't you experiment and break the mold a bit, some of the groupings I would suggest is:

Specific Themes/Mechanics (Horror, Shipping, Dexterity, Card Games, Worker Placement, Deckbuilding)
Expected Play time (30 min, 1 hour, 1 hour 30min, 2 hours etc.)
Number of Players Supported (this is good since plenty people often look for a 2 player game or a certain number of players supported)
Complexity (based on game weight in BGG)

I would find those groupings above ultimately more informative than the current way the store is split. I do like your Christmas List and Best Sellers list ideas so keep on doing something similar to that.

- Using Facebook is very interesting. What I've noticed in your Facebook page is people can comment on a per game basis. As if each picture becomes a thread of the game already. If you can do that for the store page, and have people discuss actively on each game. That would be great.

- Ultimately I think, you have to look at how ergonomic the webpage is. In online consumer studies, they study how many clicks does it take to get what you want. How many mouse scrolls? How can you minimize the number of clicks before a consumer finds a game he wants and then actually purchases the game? Is it smart to make them scroll/click through so many pages? Look at how Amazon works. Very easy to find what you want and then purchase.

Do you want to try minimizing the thumbnails so you can fit more games in one page? That way in one view the consumer can see all the games on your page. Perhaps highlight the new arrivals as bigger thumbnails at the top of the page, but have the rest of the stock in smaller thumbnails and in alphabetic order.

Just my 2 cents. Everybody else is free to chime in.
