I know of only one or two copies of this game within the immediate community. This heavy economy game can be quite a brain burner but I do enjoy it.

Wealth of Nations brings out a deep economy management experience highlighting the need for interdependency and healthy strategic "coopetition". As leaders of different (albeit generic) nations, each of you start the game with economic specialization--one the food producer, another the power generator, and yet another the miner, venture capitalist, etc. As a fledging nation, you will need to gain access to more and more of very scarce resources, something essential to your individual efforts to gain more territory and establish yourselves as a greater economy than your neighbors.

The importance of interdependency is what I like about this game. Unlike most economics game where you try to be self-sufficient, here its much better to specialize especially early on. We've seen many situations where markets tank up and everybody is severely impacted.

An well-implemented econ game for the more serious players Cheesy Oh, and imo, the base game is much better than the one with the War expansion :p

I'm one of those with a copy and I am more than willing to give it another go. It is  bit long though at 3 hours (with version 2 rules) so i suggest we set a different date for the game rather than on OGM

I would like to congratulate Nathan for reaffirming that the base game is better than with the expansion...

Yes Adrian the Red ribbon army played last Thursday. Nathan won via military takeover.

however I've read the rules about conquer operations
<from the pdf rules>
If you have Activated a Military Unit, and that Unit is on a hex that contains an opponent’s Flag but NO Industry tile, you may choose to Conquer
the Flag.

So I am assuming there is no way you could conquer an existing industry, but only occupy (leach) from it? I was left with only a single tile so everybody was seeing the game distasteful with the expansion.

Actually reading the rules again and you may be right... invalid win  Grin

So who's willing to play the game with the military expansion again? I think I'll watch the next time the military's around before deciding if I'm willing to give them a second chance. Roll Eyes

Even with the rule clarification I think I still want to play it without the military module. It's an economic game after all and I think after this many plays I prefer playing when the only forces I need to worry about are the type the manipulate the market "p
