They've done it before with Starcraft and Civilizations. So here comes another PC-game tie-in, this time from the design desk of Corey Konieczka...
Gears of War
FFG packages in this game a 1-4 cooperative experience versus a supposedly clever AI mechanism, superb figures and a modular board that randomizes every time. With its seven scenarios out-of-the-box, FFG promises high re-playability thanks to the random dungeon generator.

Had a look at the rules. There is LOS, and cover rules, also while the AI of the enemy is similar to Wrath/Ravenloft, the area they move is more suited to the shooter that this game is. Nice.

I'm pretty interested in giving this game a try, but I haven't had the chance to play the video game yet so I'm not too familiar with the storyline. Is this a game that is more meant for those who are familiar with the video game or does it not matter?
I still enjoyed games like Arkham Horror, CitOW and D&D: CR and WoA even if I wasn't too familiar with their stories before playing them.

I think it's better as I find the AI more brutal. The 1st mission ended with a defeat for the COG as the Locusts overran the helpless team
