here's a reason to but down the dpad and play more board games!

Kid died from a blood clot that formed while sitting in the same position during a marathon Xbox session.

But what I don't understand is how can he sit in the same position for so long.  Did he not ever stand up to go to the bathroom or get food?  I know when I play long video games, I have to pause to stand up and move around.

And if sitting in the same spot causes blood clots, how come people in wheelchairs aren't dying from the same reasons?

Thromboembolism is common to airline passengers in long flights. People in wheelchairs have lots of complications which their doctors deal with Smiley

Dehydration and malnutrition are also common in addicts.  The answer is obviously no.  One of the first signs of addiction is negligence of personal hygiene.

Because people in wheelchairs are usually in them for a reason.  It's because of this that they get check-ups more frequently that people that aren't in them.

Thanks for the info guys. I love video games and have had my share of weekend gaming sessions on playstation and Xbox, but I just can't understand the idea behind spending 20+ hours sitting in one spot without moving. I, personally, have trouble sitting through a 2 hour movie.

Cheers,
Zhen

Mind over matter eh?  His mind was so occupied with the pretty lights in the box that his body's needs went ignored.

Boy, it's a good thing we boardgamers would never sit down for "up to 12 hours" of playing games.
