Dear Friends,

I would like to establish a group in Metro Manila for persons interested in playing miniature wargames.  I know there are WH40k, Warhammer, Heroclix, etc players around, but I would also like to introduce other games particularly in the sci-fi genre, both starship and planetside action, and contemporary ground / air / naval combat.   I'd like to help popularize the use of paper and home-made minis, and the use of free rules available  on the net.

Among the rules systems I would like to promote are

Space: Federation Commander, Full Thrust, Starmada, AFOS
Sci-Fi Ground: Ogre/Gev Minis, Armor Grid Dirtside, Stargrunt
Modern: Panzerblitz Modern Minis, C-21 (Air), Surface Battle Group (Naval)
Other: HOTT, DBA/DBM

These rules are free, or inexpensive, available via the net / wargamevault.com

Venue will be at the Fort and/or UP Diliman for sessions.

Please contact me at domingojs23@yahoo.com if anyone is interested.

Thanks !

Gary

Found the link for you to their forums

http://z3.invisionfree.com/MWPH/index.php?s=909b90254758c0d172cee3be2bec4e35&.

The discussion on historical looks inactive though.

Personally, I'm not into minis but if you're willing to teach me and let me borrow the stuff needed I may give it a try.

I'm interested in some of those (full thrust, dirtside etc) but I don't have extra time right now. Good luck getting started and maybe sometime in the future I can drop by Smiley

Thanks everyone for the feedback !

@dmnyo @vladsee - Many, many thanks for the MWPH link !  that song "bakit ngayon ka lang" comes  to mind ! It's exactly the group I've been looking for !

@ Vlad, will be glad to share my minis armies and rules, and to run a seminar on them when I return home.  What periods would you be interested in ?   On the historical/quasi historical front I'm inclined to contemporary war, 1980s WWIII, and weird WWII (like Luft 46, Gear Krieg, etc, but minus the zombies).  If there is enough interest I'd do Napoleonics and maybe Romans / Ancients).  The rules I'd use include boardgames adapted to minis, like Panzerblitz Minis Modern.

@ JP, I had an earlier edition of Harpoon from the 80s way back, but never got around to playing  it.  I recently bought and downloaded Surface Battle Group which is much simpler.  But definitely I would be interested, thanks  !

@ Rolf, thanks for your interest !  I will post regularly on the MWPH site on progress with the games, you'd be most welcome !  In any case I won't start in Pinas until 2013.
