Hullo, everyone!

I just found out about this site from Force V's post on the AEGIS list. Has it been here long?

I usually hangout at rpg.net (for my RPG community fix) and at boardgamegeek.com (for my boardgame fix). I guess I'll be adding tabletopwars to that.

What do I play? I usually run RPGs (been doing so for ~16 years), using various systems (My current faves are: Savage Worlds, True20, and Castles & Crusades). With boardgames, my group's current favorites are Wiz-War ('80s beers-and-pretzels game; still a lot of fun! we usually play with the 7th Ed. plus both Expansions), Betrayal at House on Haunted Hill (pseudo-rpg-ness + high chaos factor + 1-hour playing time = lots of hours of fun), and Twilight Imperium (no Imperial Strategy variants, by the book, but it's usually hard to set aside enough time to play this out, esp with the fact that it's not as good without the full 6 players)....

Well that's it for now.

Game on, everyone!

Welcome Sir!  Our Calendar might be the most useful feature in the site for your event schedules.  So I invite you to make full use of it.  Also I can see that you've got lots of experience with tabletop games.  Maybe you'll consider being a Moderator for our site as well especially the RPG section and others which are still unmoderated?   Smiley
Many thanks for the welcome, Brel,

I do intend to use the Calendar as soon as I've finalized some details.

As for being a moderator, I appreciate the offer, but I'll have to beg off for now.  I don't go online often enough to be an effective mod.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Leonard!  Actually we just went live last week so its not that long. hehe  Cheesy

We also play Betrayal At House On The Hill and are also interested in Twilight Imperium.  Maybe you can do a review for it if you have some free time bro.   :p

Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy your stay!  Smiley

Hi everyone! I just joined in today. Brel, thank you for admitting me into the forums.

I'm bobby navarro. I'm semi-actively into RPGs, having started with Classic Traveller (the old three black books) and AD&D in 1980 and have since moved on to other games such as Star Frontiers, Twilight 2000, Fading Suns and Gurps. When I can, I referee Gurps games using its 4th edition incarnation.

I also play Warhammer 40k but I'm on sabbatical from my 40k tabletop battles for now. I've played some Squad Leader in the 1990s but most of my friends who I played SL with are now either abroad or don't play anymore.

I occassionally play RTS games on my PC. Mostly oldies such as Starcraft and Empire Earth. I also liked Dawn of War since I'm a 40k fan also.

Anyhow, glad to be here and looking forward to talking games with all of you. Have a good day to all!

Greetings, Earth Citizens...I'm Jeremiah, raised as a goat from Quezon City.  I am NOT a board gamer.  I've played CATAN online and ACQUIRE on PC, but that's it.  Attempted to replicate Catan since it seems to be out of stock on local shops.  Not a GROGNARD.  Maybe if MAGIC was a wargame (shouldn't it be?) then that would be it.  Played ccgs like VAMPIRE and Magic, and the old stuff people don't care for anymore (Netrunner was cute).  Have a couple of Faidutti's Blue Games, to make house parties interesting.  And that Bang! game? Yeah, that was nice. Made some non-gamers play that thing and they were so into it until the night and I have to force them to leave because I'll be the one washing the dishes and cleaning THIER leftovers and bullet marks.  God, there was so much blood and beer that night.  I also dream of designing really cool games, games that people will actually play, and not gather dust behind their shelves of Parker Brothers and Avalon Hill.  I wish games are more public, and that we could actually see UNIQUE LOCAL designs published and thrown to National bookstore and whereever.  I really really like card games, and I think it would be nice if there are card games locally designed and published.  Okay, that's enough.  I'm going to drink my milk now. See you!

Welcome Greyface and Faust!

I got Dawn of War in my PC too and I love it!  Also played pen-and-paper RPG games in my younger years.  Cheesy

Faust, what Faidutti games do you have?  Have you played Dragon's Gold?

Found a stock of Settlers of Cattan game in Hobbes & Landes Promenade.  Sir Titus Abola (of Gamefrog) sells various boardgames too.  He might still have one for sale.  You can PM him if you want. Smiley

Just DEMOCRAZY. And CASTLE, but is that a Faidutti? Can someone teach me Bohnanza? I have it and I don't get it. *sniff*. I intend to get and play Dragon's Gold, too. Smiley

I can teach you how to play Bohnanza faust.  Its easy as you get to play it twice or more. It's a "free flowing" trading game.  Cheesy

Yup Dragon's Gold is by Bruno Faidutti.  I'm quite tempted to buy it nga in Hobbes & Landes as they are only selling it for I think P700+ if I can remember correctly. Smiley

Hi everyone, call me Howl as I am a fan of Miyazaki's anime and Diana Wynne-Jones' book.  For those who aren't familiar, here is the trailer:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/howls_moving_castle/

I played M:tG until I decided I was spending too much on it.  I still have a decent deck though Wink  I've also been into RPGs particularly D&D since it was still in the 1st edition, but I've stopped as the books were way too expensive.
I got to know Brel and some other cool guys through the heroscape_ph group and I'm happy to be getting to know you all through this site Smiley

Quit Magic too, same reason as Howl's. Sad

All blue games at hobbes and landes are at 700 or less.  There are discounted prices on such small card games, perhaps to get more players to play them.  I was thinking whether to get that(Dragon's Gold) or to get Fantasy Business instead.Or both. Smiley

I third the motion... and will personally recommed to anyone to watch Porco Rosso!  If you have to watch only one Miyazaki film... it has to be that one.  Cheesy

Dragon's Gold is said to be much better than Fantasy Business.  I almost bought it last time nga.  But I bought Bohnanza instead. Smiley
